The Neutral Mask Workshop with Mike Lion

  • Arts For Hearts 21820 Northeast 56th Street Redmond, WA, 98053 United States (map)

New unique workshop for actors at Resonance Studio taught by Mike Lion!

In this 3-session workshop, Mike will introduce performers to the Neutral Mask.

The Neutral Mask is a versatile tool in theatrical training and performance that allows actors to strip away extra input and leave the body as the main vessel of storytelling. It gives the actor greater awareness of their body in space, enhances their ability to stay present in the moment, and develops the skill of directing focus on stage. While this work deals specifically with masks, neutral mask training is extremely beneficial to all actors and styles of performance. Performers can heighten their sense of discovery and learn to embrace “mistakes” or accidents in a way that makes their performance feel truly alive.

Requirements: Dress in comfortable clothes for moving. Please wear all black clothing.

Workshop taught in English or Russian depending on participants in the group.
