Mission:
Resonance Studio Theatre creates transformative theater experiences that bring people together - from classes and workshops to community events and performances. We present high‑quality bilingual productions designed for the entire family, where multiple generations can learn, create, and even perform together. We help immigrants find their place and voice through the arts, fostering deep connections across cultures, ages, and backgrounds. Whether you come with family or are seeking one, our theater community embraces everyone with warmth, kindness, and genuine support.

Vision:
We aspire to be a beacon of humanity through theater, creating an inclusive community space where families and individuals are encouraged to reflect, grow, and connect across generations and cultures. Resonance Studio Theatre aims to bring people closer, spark imagination, and nurture empathy through the shared experience of bilingual storytelling, building a lasting cultural home where everyone belongs.

Non-discriminatory policy:
We are committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible, and welcoming environment for all. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or socioeconomic status. Our stage is open to everyone, and we believe that the arts thrive when all voices are heard. We continuously strive to ensure that our performances, programs, and spaces remain equitable and representative of the communities we serve.

Mission and Vision

In 2013, Nelya Galiakbarova, our visionary director and art director, met Anna Vasilevskaya, a fellow alumna of GITIS in Moscow. Together, they embarked on a journey to create a unique family theater experience where children and parents could perform together. On June 8, 2014, we held our first performance, marking the beginning of what would become Resonance Studio.

This initial concept quickly evolved into a brand synonymous with high-quality productions where no small detail is ignored, and every member of the crew and cast is empowered to grow and showcase their best.

From its inception, Resonance Studio Theatre has been dedicated to working with the immigrant and bilingual community. Our comprehensive theater education program has helped countless children and teenagers gain confidence and flourish through the art of drama. In 2019, Resonance Studio expanded its offerings to include classes and performances for adults, while maintaining our trademark emphasis on quality and constant improvement.

The year 2022 marked a milestone for Resonance Studio as we successfully performed at an all-American bilingual community theatre festival in Washington, D.C for the first time. Our performance was met with great acclaim, further cementing our reputation for excellence. In early 2023, we proudly became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN 92-1677955), allowing us to expand our reach and impact even further. Our shows consistently sell out, and we are more active than ever, thanks to the support of our dedicated volunteers and community.

We believe that art should be accessible to everyone, and our inclusive programs are designed to welcome individuals from all backgrounds, ensuring that every voice is heard and every story is told.

As we look to the future, we are excited to embark on the next chapter of our journey. We are actively searching for our own space, which will serve as a community hub where everyone feels at home. With a commitment to significantly expanding our educational and art programs, we aim to foster a sense of community, creativity, and confidence in all our participants. At Resonance Studio Theatre, we believe in the transformative power of theater to inspire, connect, and uplift.
