Improvisation - Theatrical Laboratory

  • Resonance Studio Theatre 7114 180th Avenue Northeast Redmond, Washington, 98052 United States (map)

In this four-day camp students will learn the fundamentals of improv theatre. How do we create a scene without a script? We will focus on building characters, relationships and working with our scene partners to make a story.  We’ll exercise our imagination, creativity, and of course our comedic timing!

Mike Lion is a director, actor, translator, and clown. He is the Co‑Artistic Director of Dacha Theatre and a Production Associate at Youth Theatre Northwest, where he works extensively with teens, teaching and directing — including a recent staging of The Hobbit. He creates a space where students feel safe to take risks, discover their comedic instincts, and build confidence onstage and off.

Mike is also a longtime friend and collaborator of Resonance Studio Theatre and has appeared in multiple productions, including "Where’s Charley?" and the award‑winning "The Case of the Crushed Petunias."
